Pin up 02. Aye aye, Captain! At your service!
I made a promise to myself to make a drawing every week. But December has been and will be for the rest of the month wayyy to busy. So I won't be able to it :(
Though, I've got a new one right now
Photoshop CS3.
Wacom Intuos 4 Medium.
And a few hours.
I'm not entirely happy with the result, but it's a start.
To be honest I got tired of it half way, which helps a lot with me
not being too happy about the result.

Cat People 01.
Want to make a series of people looking like their pet cat.
I really need to practice drawing cats though. But it's my first one, so we'll see where it goes.

Old village
When I was in Valence I started making this as a practice. It's gonna be a short animation. Just set it up to practice almost everything. A bit of modeling (scenes as well as characters), working with surface shaders, lighting, rigging etc. By now I thnk the town is kinda done. I'm currently working on the character -----

Drawings
As I told in my last post; I'm planning on posting a lot of drawings on here from now on. I will cheat a bit with this and post a few on the actual dates that I've made them.
I want to keep track of the progress I've made in drawing in Photoshop. So I'll post those on the actual dates, and maybe some traditional hand drawings as well, but I'm not sure about that.
Hereby some random old sketchbook stuff for a start!

During the Internship at TeamTO
I've really been neglecting my blog the last couple of months, so I thought it'd be a good time to revive it a bit. Planning to start posting drawings on this one, and maybe notes and stuff if I've got some interesting ones. But for now;
In
the last post I made I was telling about getting an internship at
TeamTO. By now the internship is almost done (just a little less than a
month left) and it has been great! The work is incredibly cool, the
environment the best and the people are great. And I learned so much during this
internship (starting May 6th).
In the beginning I had a lot of lessons and really got to know a lot more about character animation itself. Since July I've been working as an animator on Babar and the Adventures of Badou.
I will have about a month left to fully enjoy working here in this great
team. I'm going back to The Netherlands on September 28th. And on
October 1st school will be starting again. My final year at The
Netherlands Film and Television Academy!

Internship TeamTO
In January I got a final agreement for my internship. This summer (from May until October) I will be an character animation intern at TeamTo in Bourg-les-Valence, France.
I am really excited about this and can't wait to start overthere. I will be living at Le Valency and got an appartment of my own. I really wanted to work at a studio in France, because France is about the best country in animation in Europe.
When I start at TeamTo (by the 6th of May) I will first of all have to practice my animation skills a lot more (shame on me~) and do some bouncing balls and cycle exercises. When they find my ready I will start to practice on some shots from the series and maybe the feature on which they are working. At the end of my internship I should be able to work there on my own shots. Yay!

Science Center NEMO
I've been busy lately with making an assigment / short animation for Science Center NEMO.
I have finished it on January 7th and they used it immediatally the day after :) Yay.
It had to be a short animation (20 - 30 seconds) with the theme "horror / suspense" for an audience of children age 8 to 10. It will be used in a couple of different countries as a schoolassigment. The children will make a "soundbox" with which they can make soundtracks. They will get to watch the animation and have to make a soundtrack for it.
NEMO was happy with the result. I think it could have been much better, but I had way too little time to make it they way I wanted it to be. So with the tight deadline and everything, I think it's pretty much okay.
