Girl Portrait

Finally a new drawing, after about three months... I didn't have the time to draw anytime sooner, since I had to graduate and so finish the graduation film and about two weeks after I went on a holiday to the USA for about a month, which was great. Then, arriving in Vancouver (Canada) had to find an apartment and work. Found the apartment rather quickly and had a great time at SIGGRAPH and applied for a studio, which I had an interview with last week, with great result. But I'll post some more about that when I actually start working.

Wanted to try another style, more paint-y.
I don't know yet how to add this to the hair, but it's getting somewhere.
Photoshop, speedpaint.

Update. Progress

A lot has happened since the last time I made an actual post on here. I am now almost graduated (I will be in exactly one month) and be an official "Bachelor of Arts" / visual effects artist. About two weeks after my graduation I will be moving to Vancouver, Canada. I will be living and hopefully working there for at least a year.
Because of my graduation film I haven't been able to draw as much as I'd like. Aside from that, when I had spare time I tried to practice 3D character animation in Maya, rigging, modelling and sculpting in ZBrush the most. This is why I've just uploaded a couple of sculpts I made. I am trying to put together a showreel, which I will publish in the beginning of July.
I have already updated the layout of my website, and uploaded my work on there aswell. This is why the blog has a new layout right now, so it matches my portfoliosite again.
Will try to make more drawings and keep it posted~!

During the Internship at TeamTO

I've really been neglecting my blog the last couple of months, so I thought it'd be a good time to revive it a bit. Planning to start posting drawings on this one, and maybe notes and stuff if I've got some interesting ones. But for now;
In the last post I made I was telling about getting an internship at TeamTO. By now the internship is almost done (just a little less than a month left) and it has been great! The work is incredibly cool, the environment the best and the people are great. And I learned so much during this internship (starting May 6th).
In the beginning I had a lot of lessons and really got to know a lot more about character animation itself. Since July I've been working as an animator on Babar and the Adventures of Badou.

I will have about a month left to fully enjoy working here in this great team. I'm going back to The Netherlands on September 28th. And on October 1st school will be starting again. My final year at The Netherlands Film and Television Academy!

Lipsync

One of the two assignments at Gobelins Summer School was a lipsync / acting assignment.
This is what I made of it, I guess.. Well, it's never really done.

Update from the last couple of weeks

School has started again for about two months. We already have autumn break, but honestly, I'm okay with that. I'm working on setting up a showreel and I really welcome the time off. We don't really have time off anyways, because they gave us a big homework assingment in Houdini FX. Which is kinda cool, but not really my piece of cake.

I just kinda finished my lipsync animation and will start at something new any moment. I'm gonna include parts of Spirit of Necropolis (which I worked at during an internship) and maybe a shot from the commercial we worked at at school. I don't really know what else to include, but I need to be finished by the end of next week.

The first few weeks of school we worked at a commercial for Bionade. It won't be on television (fake assignment), but it was really cool to work at and turned out nice. I like working on commercials a lot better than I expected. It was a lot of fun and I like the tight deadlines.

On October 29th the children's serie The Tumblies will be on television. I worked a bit on it when I was at my internship last summer at NMtrix Studio. I'm really curious about it.
This week it was in premiere this week at Cinekid Festival.
